Adrienne + Jacob | married at Jorgensen Farms Historic Barn
I really can’t describe how happy the flower field in November makes me, enjoy some photos from this 2019 wedding (it’s funny to feel like there has to be a disclaimer: THIS WAS PRE PANDEMIC! on anything that looks “normal”) Shot on (A LOT!) of film, and can I just say, I JUST got notification that my two weddings are ON for March. And, guys, I cannot wait. I am so happy to share your wedding days with you, I’m prematurely sorry for my unbridled enthusiasm.
Laura + Lillian | married before it all went to hell
Laura + Lillian were married in Feb 2020 at the Franklin Park Conservatory, and it’s just crazy to think that less than a month later, well, you know. I look back on these with a mix of fondness of how things were and hope that they’ll be like this again. Shot on film + digital.
Shanda + Kayla | married at Brewdog USA!
same sex wedding at Brewdog usa by Jessica love photography in columbus ohio
K I have to just touch on having a safe wedding during a pandemic, because like, if you’re getting married? There should be some level of gratefulness + sense of respect to the fact that there are a great great deal of people in the USA who have lost their lives, and many more who have lost someone they love. So, showing up for your love, for me, for MANY vendors I know, is absolutely an honor. I’m grateful that I have work right now. Glad our economy can support workers in many fields on many levels when it comes to weddings….but, I just have to take a single moment to remind the couples + bridal parties that this is a privilege. No doubt to see it any other way. Your wedding is my workplace. Your guests are the people I am so happy to serve. stepping off soapbox
As you’ll see, Kayla + Shanda were lovely, graceful, and beyond caring about being respectful to those family + friends + vendors around them, they absolutely shone on their wedding day. Thanks for having me, ladies! I’m glad to have witnessed your love.
Sara + Cameron || married at Via Vecchia

I … could make this all about how it’s safe to have a wedding during COVID, blah blah blah, but sometimes it’s just nice to look at some images without the focus being on how weird everything is right now, despite being as “normal” as it can be. SO! Enjoy these images, because I know I do!

getting back to my roots // family sessions that fill my heart
I’ll get honest with you! To me, it isn’t financially possible to be a photographer and skip out on shooting weddings. This quickly because evident to me within a few years of doing this full time. So, over time, as we grew our own family + more of my weekends (hello a 37 wedding year!) were taken up with shooting weddings, I passed more and more on the family sessions to accommodate my sanity. This year, well, we know what this year has looked like. And, instead of just wallowing in my sadness about where all my weddings went, I decided to offer family sessions at a quite reduced rate, similar to mini sessions, but on location + with individual families. I had so much fun filling my summer nights meeting with families I hadn’t seen in a long time, or had only seen in mini session settings. Here are a few of my favorites from this summer…and, if you’re thinking about booking me for a family session, great! But know, (my informal policy) is that I’ll only ever share photos of your children that are unidentifiable, or that I’ve asked you about sharing. I don’t enjoy my own kid’s faces all over social media, so I won’t do it to you!
Lindsey + Ian | engagement!
Is it … too late to blog an engagement the day after the wedding? Let’s give it a go. We know how this ends…so let’s see a year ago, then you’ll be soo much more invested to see their wedding! Lindsey + Ian were my FIRST BOOKING of 2020, way back in March of 2019, and coincidentally, I just had my first booking of 2022 (!!) my first couples are always special to me. Enjoy seeing a glimpse into Lindsey + Ian’s engagement before I share some of their wedding that I shot yesterday! This session is a mix of film + digital, and man do I miss shooting film. With the pandemic, I’ve slowed way down + focused on digital, because, well, film is expensive. But as I start to regain my ground of where my business will be going forward, I’m beginning to feel that it might be ok to be a little excessive in my film spending and shoot some rolls here and there! stay tuned!
