summertime
favorite images from wedding photography in Columbus ohio by Jessica love photography.
Back in this (fun, hard) endless cycle of: Shoot all the things, edit, edit, edit. Oh wait, let me share what I’m doing because I need work for next year!AHHHH! Self employment is a lot! As we get used to here, if you stay and scroll long enough (stay! Scroll!) here are some of my favorites from all the good I’m getting to see this year. It’s been such a good year to step into the “trend” of couples and families wanting as much of a natural, candid look and feel for their photos.
film is not (ever) dead
Sharing recent film scans from The Darkroom Lab, shot on Kodak portraits 400 35mm film by Jessica love photography in and around near me Columbus Ohio. Venues include Revery, Jorgensen Farms, North 4th Corridor Brick and Mortar. Film is exciting to shoot because it takes talent and observation skills to properly expose for light and conditions.
I love knowing when people find me because they’re diving down an internet rabbit hole of film photography (do we hashtag #film for that?). I’ll always try to incorporate film into my wedding and family shooting - and hopefully some of these recent film scans show you why!
the grain on that one!
summer faves
it’s clearly not summer here, but as soon as wedding season is in full swing, it’s easy to forget SUMMER proper is not until June 20! But, what we have time to share now are some recent favorites from all the beautiful weddings I’ve been a part of! I hope their happiness and comfort shines through!
another monday, another weekend faves
This is just such an easy and effective way to get new work out there - aren’t you (echo across the internet valleys…you..you…youuuuu) looking forward to it every week!?
I loved getting to check out Overlook at Astor Park - a new to Columbus venue that is just so beautiful. If you’re looking for a venue - check this one out!!
APRIL - WE ALL NEED SOME COLOR
looking and blooming flowers both in wedding photography and nature by Jessica love photography.
We’re almost to color and blooms. I always marvel at the spring - the world wakes up just as we, in the northern hemisphere, are desperately in need of hope. As I plant my fall bulbs, I always think of the beauty of hope. We plant at the beginning of the dark, the cold and phasing down of nature….knowing that spring will come. And we’re right on the brink - can’t wait to share my blooms with the world.
a rainy proposal
a proposal in German Village and a quick walk around in rainy spring weather by Jessica love photography
true story: photographing proposals is terrifying, AND I LOVE IT!
I get very excited for them, then as it’s happening, get the same butterflies and woozy feeling every single time. On Saturday, in THE most charming German Village neighborhood in spring, Brandon asked Anna to marry him IN THE RAIN. As if just looking out for the proposal wasn’t enough, now I’m also nervous about the rain! Well, it went perfectly and I’m always super honored to get to capture this moment for couples! Here are a few peeks!
